International Student Film Festival Hollywood!

Potter's Field is an official selection of the 9th annual International Student Film Festival Hollywood!

The film will screen at the historic Beverly Garland Holiday Inn in the NOHO Arts District of North Hollywood!

International Student Film Festival Hollywood (November 5th - 6th)
"Potter's Field" Screening: Saturday, Nov 5th, 2011, 4:45PM
Beverly Garland Holiday Inn (4222 Vineland Ave. North Hollywood, CA 91602)

The International Student Film Festival Hollywood's mission is to offer a forum for student filmmakers around the world to showcase their films in Hollywood and bring worldwide attention to their unique talent and artistic vision.

This year ISFFH will be honoring Ed Asner (The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Lou Grant, and Up among many others) with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ISFFH awards gala, where he will talk to the student filmmakers about the secrets to a successful career in showbusiness (and after his career, we will certainly be taking notes!)

We are excited to once again be playing in Los Angeles and hope you can join us at the screening!

"Potter's Field" in Review

I am thrilled to announce that after playing a number of festivals around the country, Potter's Field has it's first reviews and they are FANTASTIC!

Film Threat Review of Potter's Field by Mark Bell

Film Threat is an incredibly well respected film site that does reviews of both recently released Hollywood films and independent productions. They keep a close eye on the festival circuit and offer up to date news on all the latest happenings in the film markets around the country. We are especially priviledged to have Mark Bell, the owner and editor-in-chief of Film Threat, review our film. He gave us five stars, which is quite impressive considering that he averages around 2-3 stars on his other reviews (not an easy grader by any means!) Most satisfying of all though, is how he really got exactly what we were going for. I honestly could not have written a better review myself!

Man, I Love Films Review of Potter's Field by Kai Parker

Man, I Love Films is a website I recently became aware of, and it's tremendous fun. A bit more campy than Film Threat, Man I Love Films does reviews, blogs, top 10 lists, and seasonal write-ups with articles like "Kai's Top 10 Gory Movie Moments." Again, we were very priviledged to have Kai Parker review our film (he's the co-founder of the website) after seeing Potter's Field at the Temecula Valley International Film Festival.

Temecula Patch Review of Potter's Field by Jacqui Dobens

Temecula Patch is Temecula, CA's online newspaper, providing the community with news, reviews, events, and op-ed articles. Jaacqui Dobens likened the Temecula Valley International Film Festival to a buffet and we are certainly glad she like the portion we had at the table!

Here's hoping these are the first of many favorable reviews to come our way! Major congratulations to all the cast and crew who worked so tirelessly on this film. My hat goes off to you all!

Poppy Jasper Film Festival!

Potter's Field is an official selection of the 8th annual Poppy Jasper Film Festival!

MovieMaker Magazine states this as  "one of the top 25" festivals for bringing filmmakers and movie industry professionals together in a warm, friendly environment!

The film will screen not once but twice at the CineLux Theaters in beautiful Morgan Hill, California!

Poppy Jasper Film Festival (October 13th - 16th)
First "Potter's Field" Screening: Friday, Oct 14th, 2011, 5PM
Second "Potter's Field" Screening: Saturday, Oct 15th, 2011, 1PM
Note: "Potter's Field" plays in "Reel 8" of the program
CineLux Theaters, Tennant Station Shopping Center (750 Tennant Station Way, Morgan Hill, CA 95037)

The Poppy Jasper Film Festival's mission is to showcase emerging independent short films in an intimate setting,in addition to exposing new filmmakers to seasoned industry professionals. Not to mention, it is the only home of the rare, semi-precious gemstone (the "poppy jasper") noted for its red and yellow "orbs" on a field of black or white.

Poppy Jasper has honored a number of notable film professionals in the past (John Bruno - Special Effects, The Terminator, True Lies, Titanic and Victor Miller - Writer, Friday the 13th, among many others). This year, cinematographer Vance Piper will be doing the keynote speech (he has worked on over 50 movies including The Terminator, Forrest Gump, and Avatar) where he will discuss techniques, ideas, and lessons learned during his career.

We are incredibly honored to play this festival and who knows, we might just find the elusive Poppy Jasper gemstone!

Okanagan Film Festival!

Potter's Field is an official selection of the 14th annual Okanagan Film Festival in Canada! We are especially excited as this is our international premiere!

Okanagan Film Festival (September 22nd - 25th)
"Potter's Field" Screening: Saturday, Sept 24th, 2011, 9PM
Paramount Theater (261 Bernard Ave. Kelowna, British Columbia V1Y 6N2 Canada)

OFF is the new face of the Okanagan Film Festival, which takes place in Kelowna, BC, the heart of Canada's wine community. The festival is run by a group of award winning filmmakers with the sole purpose of discovering "true talent" in the international film community and showcasing that work to Canadian audiences. Their motto is "to inspire, to educate, to support"

I can't wait to see how Canadian audiences react to "Potter's Field" (and to see Mom and Dad) and if you are anywhere near the area, I hope to see you there!

Potter's Field Trailer!

The trailer for Potter's Field has just been uploaded on youtube! (it can also be viewed at http://www.pottersfieldmovie.com/)

Special thanks to the wonderful Cat Youell for cutting it together. I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out!

And many thanks to Lenny Smith for letting us use his song "I see him dancing" in the film (it's also featured in the trailer). You may know Lenny as the singer of the 'pope-mobile song' (that blasts from the Pope's armored vehicle everytime he visits the United States).

Lenny's an incredible guy and his support for the film has been simply amazing.
